2008 Playwriting Competition Guidelines

* The entries must be postmarked by October 1, 2008. (firm deadline)

* One act plays only

* It is open to writers 18 years old and older.

* There are no restrictions on subject matter

* The play must be unpublished and never produced except for informal readings.

* Submit two(2) copies of the manuscript in standard theater script format.

* A cover page with title, playwright's name, address, telephone and email, must be the first page of entry. The author's name must not appear anywhere else on the manuscript.

* A one-page summary of the play, sans author's information, must accompany each entry.

Entry fee: $10 TWA members, $15 non-members

Awards: Entries will be judged by theatre professionals. The first place winner will receive a prize of $75.00, Second Place-$35.00. Selected winners will be performed in Tallahassee as a staged reading in the Spring, 2009. Winners will be announced by December 15, 2008.
