An Evening of New Irish Plays  

Co-sponsored by Tallahassee Writers Association and Tallahassee Irish Society, two selected plays from the Celtic Knots Playwriting Competition will be presented in a Readers Theatre format, Thursday, August 21, 7 pm, at the American Legion, 606 Lake Ella Drive.  Well-know director Chuck Olsen has cast strong and experienced actors Jim McMurtry, Charlene Cappallini, Alan Kagan and Colin Wulff in leading roles in the two new plays and is working closely with the two playwrights to develop fully the motivation of their vision. 

  TWA member Ted Simmons’ drama Red Fox and Brown is one of the two selected plays.  Arlene Kalem’s play The Song of the Selkie is based on an Irish mythological figure. 

The Evening of New Irish Plays is free and open to the public.  A cash bar will be available.   Adult themes and language.
