2007 Playwriting Competition Guidelines

Entries must be postmarked by October 1, 2007 (firm deadline)

• It is open to writers 18 years or older.

• Plays should be one act and be crafted primarily for actors 50+.

• Subject matter must address the hopes, dreams or concerns of seniors.

• Play must be unpublished and never produced except for informal readings.

• Submit two(2) copies of the manuscript in standard theater script format.

• A cover page with title, playwright's name, address, telephone number and email, must be on the first page of entry. The author's name must not appear anywhere else on the manuscript.

• A one-page summary of the play, sans author's information, must accompany each entry.

Entry fee: $10 TWA members, $15 non-members
 

Awards: Entries will be judged by theatre professionals.
First place winner will receive a prize of $75, Second Place $35.
Selected winners will also be presented as a staged reading at a suitable venue in Tallahassee.

Winners will be announced by December 15, 2007.
