Elaine Bernstein Partnow's latest work is a collection of quotations entitled The Quotable Jewish Woman, Wisdom, Inspiration & Humor from the Mind and Heart (Woodstock,  VT: Jewish Lights Publishing, 2004): In it are more than 2400 quotations from the voices of 317 fascinating women--including those of the Bible, actors, poets, humorists, scientists, and literary and political figures--whose ideas, activism, services, talent, and labor have touched the world, come together in one comprehensive volume.

    

Partnow has authored several other books, best known of which is the nationally acclaimed The Quotable Woman, The First 5,000 Years (Facts On File, NY: 5th edition, 2001: ), a collection of more than 19,000 quotations from all over the world from over 3,750 women, spanning earliest recorded history to the present day, it has been in print since 1978 and twice chosen as an outstanding reference book of the year by the American Library Association.  Partnow is also author of Everyday Speaking on All Occasions and The Female Dramatist, among others.

Also a public speaker, or performance lecturer, as she refers to herself, noted for her living history portrayals of notable women, Partnow has brought her expertise on women's issues and her prodigious presentation skills to tens of thousands of women, men and children internationally. 
    In New Orleans, where she lived for several years, she created The Living History Institute, a non-profit organization with a mission to bring living history into the schools.  Currently she volunteers as an educational interpreter for the St.  Marks National Wildlife Refuge in Florida.  Partnow is included in several editions of Who's Who of American Women, Who's Who in Entertainment and Contemporary Authors. She is the on-line editor of "Women of Wisdom" for the award-winning web site, feminist.com.
