While this is primarily a tale written to entertain,
it is based on my larger interests in mythology and the ideas of
philosopher and visionary Joseph Campbell, who wrote widely about coming
to terms with how we tell our own stories and invent our own myths, as
well as the signs and symbols we use to define them – in essence,
confronting what it means to be human. In telling my story, my intent is to show how myths (theirs, and ultimately ours) bump up against one another, and what lies at the root of them all. Thin Line Between

Anne is a regular speaker at such literary and popular-culture conventions as TheOneRing Celebration (ORC), Florida Literary Arts Coalition, Florida First Coast Writers’ Conference, Seven Hills Writers Conference, Trinoc-Con, and Dragon*Con. She has also written educational multimedia scripts and three books of literary criticism. Her dark fantasy novel, Thin Line Between, is now available from Cold Spring Press/Simon & Schuster, 2005 as part of the WANDJINA QUARTET. The sequel is due out in May 2006, with two more books planned in the series. She lives with her husband and two opinionated cats on the Florida Gulf Coast, where she writes, indulges her addiction to Japanese anime, and dodges hurricanes. |
