Johnson "Bill" Wood loves poetry. He learned to appreciate poems at his mother's knee and--as he puts it--at other classy joints. Among his fondest memories are those of sitting across from his mother Nancy and reading poems aloud with her from anthologies on their laps. There is a poem in this book about those evenings.

Bill is a member of the Florida State Poetry Association and past president of the Tallahassee Writers Association. He and his friend Norma Sundberg founded the Writers of Wakulla group. His poems, essays and fiction have won awards and appeared in anthologies. A writer who has lived as long as Bill must inevitably have acquired material for a large body of work of which a select few are included here. |
